Mikoyan MiG -29A (NATO name 'FLOGGER') now of the Polish Air force
With the collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe and countries such as Poland now being members of NATO former front line Soviet weapons have come to be on NATO's roster.
The Polish air force has 30 MiG 29s and they are engaged in Baltic policing duties. Most have undergone upgrades that will keep them in service for at least another 15 years.
They were once one of the most feared Soviet aircraft in the armoury but after NATO was able to evaluate a MiG they came to the conclusion that although it was scary it was not as scary as once thought!
